Steven Immerman, MD, FACS
Dr. Steven Immerman started Evergreen Surgical in Eau Claire in 1981. Since that time, the practice has grown to its present size of three board certified general surgeons. Dr. Immerman received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Northwestern University in Chicago and continued on to complete a five-year residency in general surgery. As part of his surgical training, he completed an American Cancer Society Clinical Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Evanston Hospital, Evanston, Illinois.

Dr. Immerman has published papers on cancer of the breast, lung, pancreas, parathyroid glands and skin. He is Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery,is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Wisconsin State Medical Society, the Society of General Surgery, and the Midwest Surgical Association. He has served as Director of Trauma for Sacred Heart Hospital, chaired their Department of Surgery from 1987 to 1992 and currently serves on their Critical Care Committee.

Dr. Immerman is one of the originators of the OakLeaf Medical Network, which was created to allow patients and physicians in western Wisconsin to maintain independent private practice as a health care option. He has been the CEO of the OakLeaf organization from 1993 to the present. Dr. Immerman has given over 80 lectures, talks and seminars on surgical topics in the Eau Claire region since starting his practice here. He has been an active participant in the UW-Medical School Family Practice Teaching Program in Eau Claire for 20 years.

Dr. Immerman was born and raised in the suburbs of New York City. He is married and has three sons. His hobbies include photography, computers and kiln-formed and fused glass.
